All manuscripts submitted to Journal of Torbat Heydariyeh University of Medical Sciences are evaluated by editors at first. Initial review of articles determines whether the article enters the peer review process. Manuscripts rejected at this stage are outside the scope of the journal, have serious scientific or methodological defects or they have poor writing literature.
Those that meet the minimum criteria are sent to at least one, but usually two or more, experts for review. Referees are selected base on editor's decision and matched to the paper according to their expertise.
In our journal, the type of peer review policy is double blind reviewing, where both the authors and referees remain anonymous throughout the process. Editors, authors and reviewers are required to keep private all details of the editorial and peer review process on submitted manuscripts. The peer review process is confidential and conducted anonymously; identities of referees are not released. Reviewers must maintain confidentiality of papers.
