Materials and Methods: Methodology used in the study was descriptive - correlational. The statistical population included all nurses in Isfahan state hospital who were selected as the target population from which a sample of 30 were selected by cluster sampling. Measurement tools used in this study were two researchers-made questionnaires (Job Satisfaction and Emotional Intelligence) drawing upon a five point Likert scale. The validity of the instrument, estimated by Cronbach’s alpha coefficient formula, was 0.89 and 0.86. Descriptive statistical techniques such as mean‚ standard deviation along with inferential statistical measures like correlation coefficient were employed to analyze the data. Results: The findings revealed that there is a significant correlation between job satisfaction and factors such as spontaneity, empathy, self–knowledge, self-control, and social skills. Conclusion: Emotional intelligence as a benchmark and indicator in humans’ mental health has a positive impact on job satisfaction. LA eng UL http://jms.thums.ac.ir/article-1-43-en.html M3 ER -
