Background & Aim: The quality of school life is the result of the students' participation in the daily activities at school, and indicates the level of their satisfaction. Therefore, the implementation of interventions is important to improve the quality of school life. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of education based on the Pender model on the quality of school life in junior high school girls.
Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted with the participation of 62 female students of Mashhad in 2021. Students were divided into two groups of intervention and control. In the intervention group, a training program was presented in 7 sessions of 90 minutes during one month. Data were collected using a demographic form and the Anderson School Quality of Life Questionnaire before, immediately and one month after the intervention. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 25.
Results: The results showed that the mean and standard deviation of the scores of the two groups in all aspects of the students' quality of life (immediately and one month after the intervention) were statistically significant (p <0.05), and this difference was higher in the intervention group compared to the control group. After the intervention, the negative emotions of the students' life were not statistically significant between the two groups (p <0.05).
Conclusion: The results showed an improvement in the school life quality of students using the Pender model. It is recommended to use this educational model to provide education in schools.
