Background & Aim: Curriculum revision is an essential process that is periodically conducted to enhance the clinical competency of nursing graduates. It is crucial for administrators and policymakers to stay informed about changing in nursing curriculum in order to effectively plan for the future. The present study aims to compare the nursing bachelor's curriculum in 2022 with its previous iteration.
Methods: This study is an applied and descriptive-comparative research. To facilitate the study, Bereday's four-step model was employed which includes description, interpretation, comparison, and conclusion.
Results: The curriculum for 2022 consists of five chapters. Notable changes compared to the previous curriculum include the addition of two new theoretical courses on the nursing process and human sociology, and the exclusion of the nursing care at home. Moreover, the nursing process, central to nurses' duties, is emphasized throughout all courses.
Conclusion: The revisions made to the 2022 curriculum seem to prioritize highlighting the nursing process, incorporating a holistic approach into nursing practice, and emphasizing community health. It is crucial for nursing managers to ensure the presence of both basic science and clinical instructors as outlined in the course structure.
